The primary function of this role is to coordinate deliveries, logistics, and operations for Big River Farms aggregated markets. This includes coordinating and delivering 260+ CSA shares to 15 drop-sites in the Twin Cities Metro Area; making weekly deliveries to wholesale and food shelf customers; maintaining a clean cooler, truck, and pack shed in accordance with our food safety plan; providing excellent communication and customer service; and assisting the Market Specialist with other market-related tasks as needed. This is a seasonal, part-time position, (July 10 – October 27), ~5 hours per week (Sundays 11am- 4pm). Farmers Market Contractors will support The Food Group in their Produce Rescue programs by co-leading produce rescue efforts at the Minneapolis Farmers market each Sunday from July-October alongside the Food Rescue Contractor. This is a seasonal, part-time position, (July 10 – Nov 1), ~10-15 hours per week at various locations. The Food Rescue Coordinator is a new position created to assist with both Minneapolis Farmers Market produce rescue, as well as on-farm gleaning produce rescue. This position will work closely with the Produce Programs Coordinator and Produce Programs Assistant to increase our team’s ability to rescue and glean fresh local produce for distribution to regional food shelves. The programs administrative assistant will assist with the efficient and smooth operations of The Food Group’s Agency Relations Team and the Retail Team. This position will work across programs to provide excellent office support and customer service which includes, but is not limited to: data entry, answering phones, handling money, assisting with record keeping, bulk purchasing, reporting and food shelf and meal program support. This is a seasonal full-time hourly position. The Volunteer Assistant will oversee food box assembly by small groups of volunteers. This will include preparing materials (name badges, labels, supplies), staging the warehouse and volunteer room for food packing and volunteer shifts, welcoming volunteers, providing direction and instruction to volunteers, wrapping and moving pallets of food, stocking supplies, and cleaning up after projects. The Seasonal Warehouse Technician will work under supervision of the Warehouse Manager to ensure day to day warehouse operations and responsibilities are carried out and fulfilled. They will be responsible for order selection, inventory movement and tracking, warehouse organization, operational support of volunteer groups and all shipping/receiving activities. This position will also be accountable for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the warehouse. This position’s shift will operate between the hours of 7am and 3:30pm Monday through Friday, with some flexibility. This is a seasonal volunteer position for ~3 hours of work each week for a total of 54 hours from mid-June through mid-October (June 17-October 14). The primary function of this role is to help pack weekly CSA boxes during the 18-week season. This position also assists in maintaining efficient and effective farm operations while adhering to the food safety plan. The Volunteer Receptionist will perform a variety of tasks depending on project deadlines in The Food Group office. This will include answering the phone and door and other administrative tasks as assigned by the Office Manager.
