Nicole Wamma

Nicole Wamma

About

Nicole is in her first year of farming in the Big River Farms Grower Training Program. She has worked on farms for several years and is exploring becoming independently established.

Nicole was originally drawn to agriculture as both a way to learn about traditional sustainable farming practices in her culture and as a way to mitigate some of the effects of climate change. Farming with a regenerative approach, where the whole ecosystem is cared for, can potentially turn one of the largest polluting industries into one of reciprocal care, growth, and connection.

Nicole currently grows for her community and The Food Group’s agency partners so that their food shelf customers have access to fresh, nutritious food. She also grows seeds that are distributed by North Circle Seeds.
