Sign up for automatic monthly giving and you can fight hunger every day! Since the pandemic, food needs have skyrocketed. Your monthly gift will help meet urgent needs — ensuring children, seniors and families in our local community have access to the culturally relevant foods they need to thrive. We all want and need familiar, nutritious foods that promote health and wellness.
Donate by Phone or Mail
Instead of making an online donation, you can:
- Call us to give by credit card. Call The Food Group at 763-450-3860. MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express are accepted.
- Mail a check. To donate by mail, send your check payable to The Food Group to 8501 54th Avenue North, New Hope, MN, 55428.
Your Employer May Double or Triple Your Gift!
Double or triple the impact of your gift! Many employers match dollars or volunteer hours contributed by their employees, retirees and/or spouses. To find out if your company has a matching gift program, enter your employer’s name below. Then follow the instructions to access the match.

How to Use the Matching Gift Search
Enter the name of your employer in the search box to see if they have a matching gift program registered with HEPdata.
If they do, you can follow the instructions to contact your employer and ask them to match your gift! If you don’t see your organization, contact your HR person to double-check.
Make a Qualified IRA Distribution
If you meet certain guidelines, you may make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA (individual retirement account) to The Food Group. QCDs can satisfy your required minimum distributions (RMDs) for the year, as long as certain rules are met.

Giving stock is an efficient and effective way to support hunger relief. Consult your financial advisor to learn about potential tax advantages, such as a tax deduction for the full market value of your stock.

Plan a Legacy Gift*
A planned gift is a meaningful way to leave a legacy and provide long-term support to alleviate hunger. To make a lasting impact, you can:
- Access FreeWill, an online estate planning tool. It’s 100% free to you. In 20 minutes or less, you can care for your loved ones and create a legacy for causes you care about.
- Leave a bequest to The Food Group in your personal will or trust. Here is sample legal language: [“I [your name] give to The Food Group Minnesota, 8501 54th Avenue North, New Hope, MN, 55428 EIN #41-1246504, _____ percent of my estate, or the sum of _____ dollars, or the remainder of my estate.”]
- Make The Food Group a beneficiary of an IRA account or insurance policy. Just add “The Food Group Minnesota” as a beneficiary.

Make Bulk Product Donations
The Food Group accepts bulk donations of all types of nutritious foods and household products. Giving close-dated, surplus, discontinued, or seasonal products reduces waste and — best of all — feeds families experiencing hunger!

Rest Assured Your Gift is Private and Secure
When you donate, your personal information will be secure and will not be shared. The Food Group does not sell, rent, trade or share donor information with any other organizations.
The Food Group keeps a record of your giving history so that we can thank you, send you receipts, and inform you about news, events, and giving opportunities. Donor information is kept in a secure database and can only be accessed by authorized persons who have unique usernames and passwords. Donor information includes: name, address, email, and phone number. Online donations are secure and deposited directly.
